Jennifer Keller Bergel is a FORMER LCPS STUDENT.

Lovettsville Elementary is a school that holds great memories for me as a student, and I am grateful for the new moments and memories that I am experiencing with my children. Blue Ridge Middle gave me some of the friends that I still am in touch with today. Loudoun Valley High School and its teachers brought me opportunities that allowed me to prepare to attend James Madison University. I was lucky to have been educated in Loudoun: I wanted my children to be educated in Loudoun, which is why my husband and I chose to raise them here. There is a great opportunity for former LCPS students to outreach into the schools, which is reinforced by LCPS’s hiring of former teacher cadets. Also, former students have insight into what worked and what did not during their educational experience in Loudoun and can help our school system to continue to move forward. Furthermore, many of those former students now volunteer their time and donate their resources as a way of “giving back.” They help to generate the support of new Loudoun citizens who move here because of our schools. I am encouraged by the number of former LCPS students in our midst (generations of them) – I accept the responsibility of the LCPS legacy, and I am grateful for it.
